How to Treat Postpartum Hemorrhage with Herbal Remedies

Postpartum hemorrhage is a complication of childbirth in which the mother experiences heavy bleeding from the vagina after delivering the baby. Postpartum hemorrhage must be dealt with immediately, and the following postpartum hemorrhage formulas should be prepared ahead of delivery.

Instructions

    1

Chop equal parts dried blue cohosh, dried shepherd's purse and dried motherwort coarsely. Place the chopped herbs in a glass jar.

    2

Cover the herbs in 100-proof vodka or grain alcohol.

    3

Screw the lid on securely and label with the date and ingredients; it will need to infuse for 6 weeks before using.

    4

Take one dropperful of the above infusion under the tongue after delivery. Repeat if heavy bleeding continues.

    5

Chop 1 ounce each of dried blue cohosh roots and dried witch hazel bark and ounce dried Valerian.

    6

Place in a dark glass bottle and cover the herbs with 100-proof vodka or grain alcohol.

    7

Tightly secure the lid and label the bottle with the date and contents. Allow to sit for 6 weeks.

    8

Pour out the liquid, reserving the wet plant material that was inside the bottle. Use a centrifugal juicer to extract the liquid from the herbs. Store the extracted liquid in a dark glass bottle.

    9

Take two dropperfuls under the tongue after delivery. Repeat 1 minute later and 10minutes after that, if necessary.
