How to Make Heart-Shaped Crayons

How to Make Heart-Shaped Crayons

Valentine's Day is all about hearts and love. Let your little one show their affection by creating heart-shaped crayons to give to their Valentines. This craft requires the help of an adult and will take 1 or 2 hours to complete.

Instructions

    1

Gather crayon pieces. Remove the wrappers and discard the paper.

    2

Preheat the oven to 250 degrees.

    3

Fill each heart mold with crayon pieces. Break large crayon pieces to fit entirely in the mold.

    4

Line a flat cookie sheet with tin foil. Set the heart tin on the cookie sheet.

    5

Place both pans in the oven. Bake the crayon pieces for 10 to 15 minutes or until they are melted.

    6

Remove the pans from the oven, using oven mitts. Let the crayons set until the wax has hardened and they are no longer warm.

    7

Smooth out rough edges of the crayon by rubbing them on a piece of scrap paper.
